What is an average hourly wage or salary for an Office Assistant/Receptionist?

I live in Richmond, Virginia and am currently seeking a Clerical job. I'm curious as to how much I should expect when looking for a job in this field. Thanks!

1. Most of the postings in this area (Houston metro) seem to be offering $10/$12 per hour for entry level clerical. More experience commands a higher starting wage. I would think Richmond VA would be roughly similar, but your cost of living there is significantly higher so you might make more.
