Do you know the salary of any physician, personally? I hate those national average salaries. There is too much variation so they are pretty useless. Also the location would help out very much. Thank you.
What is an average salary range? I know this is kind of an odd question-- but I am always curious to what nationally how my husband and I compare to what national averages are. He makes about 22 an hour and I am at 15 (also in college currently) He is 30 and I am 23. Our mortgage is 700 a month and pay an additional 1300 in bills for school, utilities, credit, cars etc, so our bills average 2000 a month not including groceries. Does this sound average? I feel like we are doing pretty well, especially with me only working part time and going to college, but I consistantly live in a paranoia when I see our neighbors in their fancy cars and declaring all the money they spend on stuff!

How common is it for a clinical psychologist to make 75k/year fresh out of grad school? I have calculated that in order to be able to pay back my student loans, live in a modest apartment, and to be able to eat and put gas in my car and pay utilities, I will have to earn about 75k a year. After graduate school I will have a doctorate in clinical psychology, and the national average salary for this type of job is about 75k. Does anyone know what the STARTING salary for a clinical psychologist working in a clinical setting (not private practice) might be?
Which states is a physician assistant NOT allowed to prescribe medication? Also I'm from pennsylvania, and am not sure if they can prescribe in my state. I noticed that their salary in my state is very low, is that because they are not allowed to do much in my state? Are their responsiblities likely to increase, and cause an increase in their salary so to come closer to the national average salary for physician assistants. Thank you

Hairstylists/colorists what is your REAL salary, including tips, yearly? The national average salary for hairstylists is pretty low- and I was wondering how accurate are those figures? Is there anyone with a business idea wishing to form an alliance and break free from routine ? I am looking for someone with ambition & ideas to go into business with; someone fed up of their routine, dull life working at the behest of an employer; someone who feels they are worth a damn sight more than the average national salary; someone with creative flair who feels they need to, and can contribute to, the ebb and flow of economic activity; You could be any age, any sex, but your skills should ideally compliment mine - that way we become an effective team. Perhaps you have spotted a gap in the marketplace but don't quite know where to begin ? If you are prepared to take calculated risks but have hitherto shied away from striking out on your own for lack of support, or lack of encouragement and help, please respond.

Average American Salary? I was wondering what the national average income per year was? I know this is a hard question to answer as it depends on the job and the amount of hours but I'm just wondering in general... I looked up "average American salary" online and I saw different answers ranging from $30,000-$40,000 and a few with less or more. To me this seems too low. One of my teachers told the class the teaching salary per year for our district was around $43,000. I don't mean any disrespect because I think teaching is one of the most respectable and hard-working professions and all teachers should be paid more. But isn't it a known fact that teachers are underpaid? So how would it make sense that the average American salary is somewhere from $30,000-$40,000 if the average teaching salary is $43,000? I was under the impression that the average salary was in the lower six digits. Am I wrong? Can anyone tell me what it is? Again, I don't mean to offend anyone, I was just curious. Thanks.

Is it possible to survive in U.S. with $65.000 salary ? As I`ve noticed from yearly statistics, the average salary in my profession seems to be $65k per year in U.S. (I`m currently in Europe and have a B1-Visa, though my wife and kids don`t have VISA). The question is whether it`s possible to live a normal life with a family of 5, where wife isn`t and wouldn`t be working - thus it would be the only income. With 2-3 more yrs of experience, I could jump to around $75k, which I know is enough to survive from month to month. Of course, I`m not talking about living in those more expensive places like SanFran, NYC or Bay area - there are many cheaper places in U.S. where costs of living are significantly lower, while salaries are just 10% lower (compared to national average in given field). How much would I actually get from that $65k salary to my bank account after all taxes ? Range is enough. I`d guess around $3100 ? What about medical insurance ? How much does that usually cost each month OK, thanks for first replies, though I absolutely don`t understand how some people are saying that it`s possible even with an income of $35000. I mean, just a basic food, gasoline, and medical pills (that my wife has prescriptions for) cost around $1000 each month here - I believe it would be more expensive in U.S.. And there`s no clothes yet, no going out or whatever else. Just food and shelter. AFAIK, you can`t find any house with at least 3 rooms for less than $1200 anywhere in U.S. Wth a salary of 35k, you`d be earning probably around $1800 each month (+- few hundreds). So, it would seem to me that a salary of $35k would give a family just a bread and butter - literally. I wouldn`t call that something good. Any ideas ? Brent: This must be the reason, why Texas was picked, among other states, where one should apply for jobs. With ~$4000 I wouldn`t worry about month-to-month survival so much anymore. Still, a mortgage for $350k costs around $2000, right ? Not sure about Texas property prices right now, what $350k gets you. Wayne: I know what you mean, but there is simply some level beyond which you can`t go - since you must eat every day and you must buy the various medical pills, and that`s $1k each month - there`s no way around it, even though we`re always buying the cheapest types of groceries. If we chose more quality brands, that would be easily $1300. Now add to that mortgage of at least $1500, some property tax of $200, some family medical insurance for $200 and you need at least $2900 each month. And that`s without any energy bills, clothes, car loan (though, cars are cheap in US) and vacations. How could that possible with a salary of $35k is beyond me... bostonianinmo: Missouri is the cheapest place (in U.S.) to live then ? Unfortunately, I`d probably have a hard time finding a position as senior games programmer there. Though the salaries would be adjusted for this for sure. SanFran is 200% more expensive to live at ? I knew it`s in top 3, but 200% over national average ? Nothing for me. On the plus side, it has exremely high risk of earthquake in coming decades :-) Julie_CG : Thank you very much for the numbers. Actually, some of the senior positions in my field advertised 401k and Family plan, so that would be surely a huge win, if I saved $0.3k each month. As for the middle-class - that`s understandable. You can`t get rich by working on others. And we have credit cards here in Europe too (I have three ;-) )
Are Americans making an "average" salary going to see their (local, state, national) taxes rise this year? When I say average, I mean a typical adult who makes roughly $30-90K per year- that is, what is generally considered middle class. When I say "taxes", I don't mean just the federal income tax. I mean local and state taxes, gas taxes, and all sorts of "hidden" taxes levied by the government. Basically, will a middle class working American have to pay more to the government, when already accounting for the inflation increase? When you answer, you can add specific details such as: your party affiliation, the candidate you voted for President (or the one you supported), your home state, and any other info you find useful. But please, no personal or overtly political attacks. Thanks.
Salaries in Qatar for Certified Accountant? What is average salary of Chartered Accountant joining with Public Quoted Company of Qatar with 2 years of post qualification experience? like for Indian and Pakistani National? Designation offered is Supervisor in Audit?

I've researched the average salary I should be making, and I'm not getting paid EVEN CLOSE to the national ave? I work for a small company on the verge of exploding with success. As in all small companies, I currently do the job of about 5 people. (I'm one of 6 ppl with the company) I'd like to think I'm directly related to everyone's success, yet my paycheck says "we think you are worthless". I've tallied up ALL the jobs I do, and I should at least be making 40grand a year, at least, considering we are small that is on the very low end. I make about 22k, it's humiliating. I want to confront them with my findings. I'm not invaluable, but they would probably have to hire at least 3 ppl if i quit. What do i do???
Why would anybody want to live in Barrow Alaska? The average salary there is lower than the rest of the united states as a whole. The cost of living is >> the rest of the united states, PLUS For a good period of time (around a month) there is no sunlight and over that time the temperature is bellow 0 degrees. It can get to below 50 degrees F. In addition to that, the unemployment rate is 12.7% there while the national average is 5.8%. Why do so many people live there (even if you don't include the eskimos =/)
Average Salary for an HR Professional in Toronto? I would like to know about the average salary of an HR Professional in toronto. Positions like HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Officer. what percentage of salary does the average American spend on living expenses? Several questions that I couldn't find on google after a half hour of searching. What is the average ratio or percent spent on cost of living per salary for the average citizen. Example : If I get paid 50,000 (national average) what percent of that will go to basic living expenses. What percent will I have left to spend on luxury items or other things basically? If I can find that (if it has a word to it) then I can find how different regions of the US and cities are different. Like which ones are the best that offer the lower cost of living (energy bills, mortgage, apartment rent, food, ect.) but still pay good salaries. If I can find that ration or term.
why dont our represenatives in D.C. take pay cuts and use that money to help others? The current salary (2009) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year. congressional pay rates also affect the salaries for federal judges and other senior government executives. imagine they all take pay cuts down to 100k/year that would save $39,590,000 a year from congressional saleries i mean why should they make more the then national average salary (In the United States of America, the average annual wage was $36,764 in 2002) oh and they work less the the average person (Since 1985, Congress has allocated an average of 152 days per session) i got this info by doing yahoo searches im not saying they shouldnt get paid just that if we need 800billion to help out the economy why shouldnt they help pay some of it and your right 39 mill isnt that much but then again how much is 800 billion going to cost you in the long run
LPN's Do you average a good income, and where do you work, Hospital, doctors office, ect.? Medical professiona I am going to school to become an LPN and then want to get my RN once I start working. But I am going to have my 3rd child in August and would really like a career, that I know if anything happened with me and my husband I can support me and my children on my own. I looked up the pay on Salaries and they average i quess around 40000.....but that is a national average! Are you an LPN or another medical professional? Also where do you work what kind of medical setting? What do average a year, and where are you located? And how hard was the exam?
Teachers Salary? I'm trying to figure out a few things for my Life Plans project, but I am having a lot of trouble finding answers. What is the national Average salary in the USA and Canada for English or High school teachers The average salary of either in Mass and Maine Thank you!!!
Should the U S federal and state governments enforce an across the board paycut for all government employees? With the economy the way that it is, many companies are having to freeze wages and, in some cases, reduce the pay of their employees. Shouldn't our government employees, top to bottom, also feel the pinch? Instead of being able to vote themselves a pay raise, shouldn't Congress be payed a salary based on the national average?
On average, how much does a person's salary increase from their lowest pay to their highest? I'm mainly applying this question to any office or self-employed job with a large number of clients, but if there's no statistic on that, the national average would be the next-best thing. What I'm asking for is the average difference between a person's first professional salary and their highest salary. Also, how quickly do salaries tend to increase after somebody getting their first career job? For example, if I were to get hired after an internship, how long would the averages say it would be until my next big raise? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. I realize it's a bit vague, but I'm in high school, and am just curious about these things right now. Thanks in advance for any answers.
How do people afford to live in the UK? Although I was born and lived in England until my early twenties, I have spent the last few years living and working abroad in the Netherlands and Germany, and when I look at everything going on in the UK, the general unrest and disatisfaction with various social issues and the sheer cost of living (I mean what is the national average cost of a home now ? ridiculous!!!) I wonder how the average person does it, I mean really... When I look at average salary versus property prices and standard cost of living, my mind boggles!!!! Can this continue?
Writer's Guild Strike - Why should writers get more money??? Why should writers get more money??? The national average salary in the US is approx $38,000 and the average writer gets paid approx $60,000 a year (median white male writer earnings are approx $120,000 pa). Why should anyone feel sorry for them? The only people who suffer are the non-unionized ancillary and support staff who get let go while productions shut down. The irony with the strike is that whilst the little guy loses his job, writers continue to earn a decent take-home $ through DVD residuals from all the people renting / buying movies rather than watch TV reruns!!!!! The strikers and their supporters should be ashamed of themselves...... Wikipedia strike background - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007-2008_Writers_Guild_of_America_strike Writers Guild Salary Report - http://www.wga.org/uploadedFiles/who_we_are/HWR07_exec.pdf National Average Wage Index - http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/COLA/AWI.html Sports stars often get paid more than the team coach. They already receive money from DVDs - the writer's guild wants to double this amount. Would you ask your manager to double your xmas bonus? With regards to the internet they have been offered the same amount as they currently receive for DVD's. this isn't enough for them...... For those who are saying that Writer's make a near god like contribution to society - bear in mind the top level salary for a firefighter in Washington DC is approx $66k pa (http://www.metwashairports.com/emergency_services/fire_rescue/salary_requirements). Who's more important - someone who can make you laugh for 1/2 an hour or someone who would lay their life on the line for you? Where is eveyone getting their information from? Writers (in the media perhaps, newspapers, magazines, tv shows etc.)? Surely they'd paint an honest picture? Why is an actor in full time employment when a writer isn't? Actor's are employed in the same way writers are - if anything writers have more stability. A writer can kill off a character in a story but this can't happen the other way around without criminal charges.....
Wow claiming back 22,000 pounds on their second homes? This is 1000 pounds under the national salary average, how disgusting is that? http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20080314/tuk-uk-britain-expenses-fa6b408.html
What is the UK national median wage? Just want to know where I stand salary wise compared to the National median. In the media the national wage tends to be reported as an average (mean) which is misleading and doesn't really say anything.

UK folks - Alistair Darling is asking for pay restraint.... : )? Meantime the Sunday Times reports that MP's are going to give themselves an extra £40k in allowances. Politicians are always going on about leadership - it's about time they showed some isn't it? Should MP's pay be index linked to, say, a maximum of 2 or 3 times the national average salary and their expenses fully open to public scrutiny? Shouldn't they be subject to being sacked by a popular vote of their constituents if they are not happy with their MP's performance - and have their pension linked to a vote of satisfaction on the ballot paper every election time? Alan, on £100k p.a. a no pay increase can hardly be called leadership when they are going to vote themselves another £40k by the back door - come on!!
Young people with expensive cars? Hi all, Ok, I've noticed that over the last few years, I've been seeing more and more young people driving brand (07/57 plate recently) cars, yet have the appearance of chavs, in many instances. I drive a modest 206, which I paid cash for. I'm a Systems Engineer for a large bank, and I'm paid a fair amount, especially in comparison to the national average salary, but even I would be stretched to by a brand new car. So how are these people able to do so, along with all the mods and flash gear? If it were solely through finance, how do they afford it all?
How do I get a fair raise? I am an employee of a small organization. I have worked there for nine. After much consideration, and employee complaint, management has decided to raise everyone's salary to the national average for their specific job. The problem is in my department all the other employees are getting a 25%-30% raise and I will be getting a 2% raise and we will all be making the same amount. I have been there longer, so my salery was more. Others will be getting a 8k-10k raise and mine will be about $700. I am an excellent employee. I have won 6 national awards for the firm, more than any other person. I get outstanding reviews from clients served. And I bring alot of experience to the team. In our last annual meeting, I was the only one with new ideas. I received recognition for it at the meeting. When I told my boss the raises weren't fair, he asked if I worked harder than my co-workers. I think they work hard, but I know I work as hard as I can. What should I do to get a fair raise?
Will the GI bill or Army National Guard pay off past student loans as incentive to join? I'm thinking about joining the National Guard Reserves. So I was wondering about past student loans, also the average signing bonus and salary equivalent to an E4
How can I compare my current tax exempt salary and benefits to job offers back in the States? I am trying to find out a way to compare my current NET income to what I could potentially NET back home. All of the salary comparison websites do not accurately calculate my tax exemption status and cost of living (lower) here in Germany. My guess is that I'll need to almost double my salary as I'm not paying most taxes here in Germany. Here's some more info about my situation. 1. Income tax exemption - I don't pay US or German income taxes. I'm exempt from both. I'm not paying US state income taxes either. This probably saves me at least 30% every year. 2. Sales taxes - I only pay sales taxes when I eat at a restaurant or shop for groceries on the economy (a german grocery store). I mostly shop at the commissary on base...and they sell everything at cost...you can't get groceries cheaper anywhere else. All other goods (utilities, clothing, cars, electronics, etc) are tax exempt. I prepay for gasoline (current US national average price without sales tax). Any suggestions? I'm not a GS employee (civil servant) or in the military. I work for a private contractor. I file the 2555 with my 1040 every year. My taxable income is just below the allowed amount. I am paying Social Security and Medicare. I also have 3 dependents. My wife also works for a private contractor and is tax exempt. I file EXEMPT on my W4. That way taxes are not taken from my paycheck. That's what we call exempt status here. Call it what you want. We're given a 3 month extension to file for being overseas.
Army National Guard Special Forces Average Salary? What is the Army National Guard Special Forces Average Salary per year?
What is the salary range for a senior auditor in Los Angeles, CA? I have been working at this mid-tier accounting firm (national firm) in Los Angeles for 2 years, doing financial statement audit. I have been promoted from associate to senior associate this summer but the raise won't be revealed until late August. I am just curious how much I can expect. Or what's the average salary for a first-year senior auditor so I can compare my salary with the average when I know my finalized raise.
Turkish economy has a spectacular growth for several years! Are average income and buying power stronger now? In comparison with the other countries, what is the ranking of Turkey? I mean : by individual ( not the national product ). Minimum income and average income are similar to EU and US now? For instance, how much is the salary of a worker, a waitress, a teacher, a policeman, a doctor, a senator, etc? Has Turkey's economy ( per citizen ) similarities with a middle-eastern country (example : Lebanon, Israel), a eastern-european country (example : Ukraine, Poland ), an asian country ( example :South Korea, Hong-Kong ), a south-american country ( example : Argentina or Colombia ),etc ?
How Much Can You Make As a Truck Driver? I'm considering switching careers, I'm currently in HR making 40k. I have a MBA but no CDL or prior Trucking experience. How much is American health insurance? I'm asking just out of curiosity,I'm in the UK and here we have a national health service which for a person on the average salary is about £136 per month ($250).Is it about same in the states or more.
How about qualifying candidates by salary? Shelly P. asked about a 3rd party to change things in the electoral process, but how about this.....Base candidates on income! If you are running for US Representative your average salary for the last 10 years cannot exceed the average salary of a worker in your district over the last 10 years. Same for US Senate. And Presidential candidates must have avg salaries at or below that of the avg national individual income over last 10 years. Then cap all election spending to say $2million for Reps, $5million for Senators, and $30million for Presidential candidates. And eliminate ALL and I mean ALL PAC money and political donations. The way it is now, only millionaires get to run our country and that is not what our forefathers intended I am sure! Steve, did you read the question correctly? Kennedy and Johnson were multi-millionaires, Lincoln was not. What I am saying here is a lot of very intelligent people never have a chance at being president simply because of their social status. There should be some way an average intelligent man or woman can run for Prez without being rich. And I don't think money is the only thing that indicates "class" or "success" like the first answerer seems to think. Ive seen a lot of dumb millionaires.
What is the average salary for.....? I have a new summertime job at a holiday park in south england. I will probably be working in the shops selling sweets. Due to our current economic disaster, do we want to head toward Socialism? Take a look at the following opinion (although I believe it is accurate, I can't claim I actually put in writing): What’s the difference between the right to free speech, which is enshrined in the Constitution, versus the ‘right’ to health care, which is not? Well, back in the day, we would simply say that a right has legal authority, it’s in the Constitution and therefore it’s a not just a right, it’s a birthright. So why shouldn’t we amend the Constitution to include the rights to health care, food, housing, education—all the rest? What’s the difference between the rights we have and the ‘rights’ Obama wants to give us? Simply this: Constitutional rights protect us from things: intimidation, illegal search and seizure, self-incrimination, and so on. The revolutionary idea of our Founding Fathers was that people had a God-given right to live as they saw fit. Our constitutional rights protect us from the power of government. But these new so-called ‘rights’ are about the government—who the Founders saw as the enemy—giving us things: food, health care, education... And when we have a right to be given stuff that previously we had to work for, then there is no reason-none-to go and work for them. The goody bag has no bottom, except bankruptcy and ruin. I know it is easy in the current time to want these functions provided to us via the government. But are you willing to give up Democracy for Socialism? I have been fortunate to have traveled to many European countries, and socialism ( some try to call it something else) is entrenched in many of those societies. However, I heard the same comments from the locals in many different towns, we are OWED this. The government has the duty (?) to provide these. However, in the same conversations I heard how (unless you were a professional) everyone was making just about the same salary (National Average) and the Fed tax rates were approx 50%, and the sales tax started around 19-20%! During my conversationsa it didn't appear there was a great deal of interest in going out and really trying to do your best at work as the guy next to you was getting the same salary. In addition, if you could find a house to buy the normal mortgage ran for 40+ years. The last key point is these countries are in bigger financial trouble than we are due to a decling birth rate ( less tax payers) and HUGE government out lay to cover all the entitlements. The question is, do you feel this is the correct direction for the US to persue ( and why?) and how do you believe this will effect the moral / determination of the work force to suceed.
How do I successfully negotiate for a ridiculously high salary?!? I've been offered my old job back, and I know they're in a bind there to fill the position. In short, it took 2 people to fill the position when I left, so if I go back, I'll be saving them from having to hire 2 people (and pay for 2 benefits, etc). But it will be a big move (across 5 states) and I'll be apart from my family to do the job at such short notice. How can I get a salary that will offset the weekends of flying home? The thing is, I've never negotiated for my own salary before, and I don't know where to start. I've already found out the average salary for that company, the national average for this position, and the cumulative salary that they paid the 2 employees last year. What else do I need to know? Do you have your top 3 tips from *your own personal* experience? Many thanks for all answers!!!
What salary do Entry Level Consultant's for IBM typically start at? Even opposing companies, or any good websites that I can research the national average? (software) If you have any national salary average websites... that could work too.
Are there any studies that estimate the TRUE VALUE of a working dad (like stay-at-home moms) to a family? I know that there are many studies out there (a prominent one performed every year around Mother's Day by Salary.com) citing that stay-at-home moms are worth anywhere from $110k - $140k a year. That is, if you took all the unpaid tasks that a typical stay-at-home mom does during the week, organized those tasks into professional job titles, and assigned average regional/national salaries to the hours worked (including overtime), you would need to write a check for $10k-$11k a month to cover it. I wonder what kind of paycheck working dads should get for the unpaid tasks they typically do during the week. Anyone know of such a study, or are interested in participating in a short poll to begin one? I suppose that the methods of the study on the value of stay-at-home moms also depended upon the relationship, but I also guess that they assumed "traditional" family roles. I thought it might be interesting to do this in the spirit of Father's Day just around the corner.
National Guard Military Police? I'm currently 18 and not doing so well in college. I plan on becoming a Pa State Trooper but I don't think college is the way for me. I have recently been researching the National Guard and found out about MP. Would this be good to get into if I plan on being a Pa State Police officer down the road? 1. What are some examples are jobs of MPs in the Guard? 2. Are MP usually used overseas or homeland? 3. What are some physical requirements to enter the Guard and become an MP? 4. What is the average yearly salary for a MP in the National Guard? 5. How long is a term of service in the National Guard as an MP? 6. Are you constantly active? Constantly overseas? Thanks.
What is the current national average salary for a 3d cad designer? I am trying to make the jump into Contract/freelance work, I would like to find those answers who are most immediately in tune with the field.
Should my teachers strike? The average salary of a teacher in my high school is $90,000, and the national average is about 40,000-50,000. I am not complaining that much because when they do strike in about a week, we will have a few days off. But I think it is kind of ironic that they are striking over $500-$800 a year. They want a 4.15% increase in pay every year instead of 3.5% that their contract would mandate. Do you think it is moral for teachers that have one of the highest salaries in the nation to complain about a few hundred dollars a year?

Engineering Work for experience? Got my degree without the internships. Need some experience and I'm about to send 25 letters to different companies, suggesting that I work for free, or a low salary rather than the national average. I'm not too sure how I should say that in my letter. It seems that unpaid employment in engineering here in Canada is rarer. (Never seen any unpaid internship). Suggestions, tips, thoughts...? THANKS!
Help negotiating my first job offer? I received an offer for $43,000 in as an entry level account for my first job out of college (I graduate in May and the job will start then). I am unsure how to begin the negotiating process. I do not want to say that I have other offers that I am considering because I don't and I wouldn't feel right lying. Also, I have no experience and cannot claim that I have made more in the past. However, I am graduating from a top 10 business school and my in my major (finance) my school's average starting salary is $51,000 and the national average for finance majors is about $47,000. Can I use these numbers as proof that I should be making more? Would it be wise to say something like, "I would like to make about 10 to 20 percent more than your offer." Lastly, I am relocating so I can say that I would like a signing bonus or relocation bonus but I would much rather increase my yearly salary than receive a bonus. Thanks for the help!
